I just discovered Brite Music and am love. So sad they discontinued the representatives. Can you give me some tips on how to use the Standin' Tall and Safety Kids series with my kids (8, 6, 4, and 1)? I was thinking of using it once a week in our family meeting time--but figure it's better for them to be exposed to it more than once per week. Any tips would be most appreciated. :)
Oh my goodness, Umsami!!! I am so sorry that I haven't replied before now. I just checked my blog for the first time since August 13th. I didn't know anyone was even looking at it! You probably gave up waiting for an answer but if you haven't, here are some of the ways we have used Brite music in our family when our children were young: 1. We played Brite music very frequently! No special occasions needed! During breakfast, in the car and before sleep---but when they're in bed. That way they can drift off to sleep with good songs and thoughts. It's very soothing...and educational! 2. After one of our moves, we saved a wardrobe box and encouraged each of our children to decorate a side of it. Then, we used that box as a puppet theater where they could act out the Standin' Tall or Safety Kids volumes, using stick puppets or whatever kinds of puppets they created. That was a real hit! 3. Have your children put on a play/performance for family members or other children, using Brite songs and the concepts learned from this wonderful music. Your children will have an opportunity to perform, they can develop skills and talents and will become more self confident in public situations and they will be sharing messages that will truly help others. Many adults appreciate the messages too! I know I still LOVE Brite music! It lifts my spirits and makes me feel good! Now our grandchildren are experiencing the benefits and blessings of Brite! Nothing is more important than taking excellent care of our children and Brite helps empower children with messages that protect them and will last their entire lifetime! Our adult children can still sing the Brite songs they learned when they were children. Have a great time with your kids and with Brite! I will NEVER stop loving Brite Music!!! Sorry for the long delay in answering you!
Thanks so much!! I've been so happy at how they've been working for our kids. Even our just turned 4 year old learned our phone number thanks to Safety Kids. They love all of the songs, but Mr. Did and Mr. Didn't seem to be the favorite. I've told a bunch of Moms about Brite Music. I think it's an undiscovered gem for a lot of parents who didn't grow up in UT or LDS. :)
So, so glad that you're using it and enjoying it! It is absolutely our favorite "parenting tool". (And calmer of chaos!) :-) I remember some specific times when our children were young and someone would be upset, I would often say a little prayer and use my mother's intuition and then choose a Brite album. Suddenly our home felt calmer and more peaceful.
